J.Z. Lanier, PA-C
The Pain Clinic is fortunate to have J.Z. Lanier, PA-C as part of our provider team. J.Z. has extensive experience in pain management and spinal disorders. Prior to joining our team in 2015, he essentially ran the pain management services of two busy spine clinics – the Haider Spine Center and the Bergey Spine Institute. He has performed over a thousand joint (knee, shoulder, elbow, etc.) and trigger point injections, and has given numerous pain management lectures throughout his career. In 2003, J.Z graduated as a class officer from the RCRMC/RCC Physician Assistant Program, where he also served as an adjunct faculty member. He is nationally certified by the NCCPA and is an active member of both the California Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
J.Z. had a promising career as a collegiate wrestler, but unfortunately suffered a painful, career ending injury. This began his interest in pain management, musculoskeletal medicine, and functional restoration. He spent years working in a sports rehabilitation center in Colorado Springs, CO, prior to beginning his career as a physician assistant. Drawing on his own personal experiences, he feels blessed to have the opportunity to help patients manage their pain and improve their quality of life.
J.Z is known for his compassionate care. He has genuine interest in every patient’s unique pain history. J.Z. believes that treatment plans should be tailored to each individual patient, since no two patients have the exact same pain syndrome. He strives not just to reduce his patients’ pain, but also to improve their functionality, which is necessary to improve their happiness and sense of well-being. In his spare time, J.Z. likes to go camping and spend time with his wife and children. He is grateful to have the opportunity to work in Hemet, where he lives and has many community ties. Being able to spend more time with his family has allowed J.Z. to find a nice balance between being a medical provider, husband, and father.
